Our official representative meets and welcomes you at the Airport and proceeds to Trincomalee. Trincomalee is a beautiful city based in the eastern side of Sri Lanka. And is the fifth largest natural harbour in the world. The city is built on a peninsula, which divides the inner and outer harbours and is rated as one of the finest of its kind in the world and attracted great sea farers like Marco Polo, Ptolemy and Sea Traders China and East Asia from the ancient times. Historically referred to as Gokanna or Gokarna it has been a sea port that has played a major role in maritime and international trading history of Sri Lanka.
It is one of the main centers of Tamil speaking culture on the island. The long and wide beaches here offer surfing, scuba diving and fishing and whale watching. This sea town is home to the Thirukonesvaram Kovil, which is one of the oldest Hindu temples in Sri Lanka. Trincomalee | Sigiriya
After Breakfast proceeds to Sigiriya. Sigiriya have been nominated as UNESCO World Heritage Site and once Sigiriya was nominated as the 8th Wonder of the world. The ancient city of Sigiriya is a premier Eco tourism destination in Sri Lanka. It is also proposed that the site should be named the eighth wonder of the world, indicating it is in the same league as other international wonders such as the Grand Canyon and Ancient Pyramids. Translated as ‘Lion Rock' into English, the name of the monument indicates the way in which visitors used to begin their final ascent to the top – through the open jaws and throat (‘giriya') of a lion (‘sinha'). Unfortunately, the only remains of this lion figure are the gigantic paws, sculpted into the side of the rock. Sigiriya | Kandy
After Breakfast proceeds to Kandy. Kandy is one of the most beautiful cities of Sri Lanka that is known for its scenic beauty and rich cultural value. Spread over an area of around 1940 square kilometers, it is counted amongst the world heritage sites of UNESCO. The city promises a number of tourist attractions that include the Old Royal Palace and the famous Temple of Tooth. The latter consists of the sacred relic of Buddha’s tooth because of which Kandy is regarded as one of the most sacred places by Buddhists. Other holy spots include the Gadaladeniya Temple and the Lankathilake Temple.
Kandy offers an exciting shopping experience with souvenirs ranging from precious stones and handmade laces to stone and wooden carvings. If you visit the city in the month of August, you can get a taste of Kandy Esala Perehera, an annual ritual of the Sacred Tooth Temple. Kandy | Nuwara ELiya
After breakfast proceed to Nuwara Eliya. Thereafter continue your journey to Nuwara Eliya. Witness the Ramboda water fall & en-route you can stop and enjoy a cup of Ceylon Tea while enjoying the spectacular scenery. Spend the evening relaxing in the cool climate.
Nuwara Eliya is known as, Little England of Sri Lanka. Is set against beautiful backdrops of Mountains, Valleys, Waterfalls and Tea Plantations. It is supposed to be one of the coldest places on the island, but is really just like an England spring day although the temperature does drop at night. Nuwara Eliya | Yala
After breakfast proceed to Yala. The perfect time to explore this natural reserve would be during the break of dawn and dusk, as it is during this time that leopards and sloth bears emerge out of the shady jungle and roam about. Yala national park has obtained much publicity by the efforts of National Geographic and Discovery TV channels that focused on Yala for its leopard research/conservation and identification project.
Yala is also a great place for birds watchers. The water holes and tanks are a bird-watcher’s paradise. You will have a very high chance to see the world famous peacock dance. For wild life lovers, Yala is a must see place in Sri Lanka! This is not 5 star luxury with the usual frills, but not uncomfortable even for those who do not wish to put up with the rigors of nature. Yala | Galle | Airport
After Breakfast proceeds to Galle.
Galle is an exquisite city filled with colonial Dutch and Portuguese history and architecture and once a major port. The imposing Fort is a tourist's treasure; it houses the national Maritime Museum, the National museum and the more recent (1938) lighthouse. The Fort overlooks the sparkling turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean and it is easy to get lost in its atmosphere, rich with memories of a bygone era. Galle, famous for its lace, is filled with priceless crafts and antique treasures like jewellery, ceramics, and Dutch period furniture and brass work. The little city of Galle is a fascinating stop, not just for historians, but for anyone interested in learning more about Sri Lanka's historical experience. Galle is also a good centre for visits to Unawatuna beach.
